Aesthetic Nurse Specialist
Theresa graduated from her LPN with distinction and her career has encompassed many aspects of nursing. She is committed to educating herself, her patients, and has taught many new nurses during her time as an Instructor at Sprott Shaw Care Aid and Practical Nursing Programs where she focused on instilling an attitude of lifetime learning. Sona MD has been proud to support Theresa in continuing to provide mentorship to new nurses in the field.
Theresa’s interest in aesthetics was sparked by her time spent as a provider in a leading medical aesthetics clinic in Manitoba, where she provided laser services and sclerotherapy treatments for spider veins. Her love of wellness, skin care, and a natural approach to beauty is what she enjoys sharing with her patients. This interest in providing natural looking results and a graceful approach to aging is what led her to pursue extensive training in injectables, such as dermal fillers and neuromodulators, like Botox and Xeomin. She has attended various conferences in aesthetic medicine and has added competencies in the use of fillers including MD Codes. She continues to further her education by enrolling in programs on Laser Safety, Laser Use, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Specialty Nurses. Theresa has been invited to share her expertise and learn from the best at the Master’s Conference for CoolSculpting in California, and with the top provider of CoolSculpting in the Western USA.
Theresa enjoys the fitness life since instructing classes and personal training for many years. Her core passion is spending quality time with her loved ones. Theresa brings this passion to work everyday because when you come to Sona MD, you are family! Educating her daughters, as well as her patients about sun safety and skin care that optimizes skin health is very important to her.
